There are many places to get the information you are looking for, some of them are free for a time (like offerings from vendors or services that have free one-time specials), some of them are cost ventures.
First of all, do NOT go to any site that has chord charts or lead sheets posted for download that are authorized byt the publishers. Sites such as the ones recommended by the second answer above are completely illegal, and not violate copyright laws but steal from the songwriters who are trying to make living with their craft.
Here is a list of LEGAL places you can get some music from, that includes occasional freebies. Some you can get immediately, some require you sign up for something. But in all cases the actual charts are free and legal. Some services will let you have temporary free access then ask for payment after a certain time or certain number of downloads. Just look on each site and please follow the rules so you can support the songwriters that are spending their lives writing this music.

Worshipteam.com - this is a new online site that is quickly becoming a favorite place for churches to manage their music ministries. Right now it is completely free for anyone to use, but it will be launching a paid service in the future, so get it while it is free. Includes full length audio and chord charts and lyrics to all the Vineyard songs.

You want to have your group perform music it didn't write and didn't pay royalties for, how Christian of you. By the way, the person who wrote that music you want to praise the lord with deserves to get paid for doing it.
If you want free music, check your hymn book.
