yes you can but it would help if you learn some music comprehension and composition, like when your making out a melody, know how many tones you are going up or down. its not something difficult to do, but it helps if you have experience, know your basic major and minor chords, and if you know your scales.How can i play the melody of any song on the guitar w/out reading a tab or music sheet?

now i can do it very easily.
You just need to train your ear to pick out chords and notes. When I first started drumming in cover bands there really were no tabs available so I just had to learn by ear.
